A young married woman who had set herself ablaze on December 16, 2013 at her mother’s residence succumbed to her burn injuries on Wednesday. Ambazari police have booked the husband of the deceased in this regard.
According to information, the accused Vijay Gulabrao Kale (44) tied nuptial knot with Kalpana (28) but soon started torturing her for dowry. Later, he sent her to her parent’s house and asked to bring money from her parents. When Kalpana failed to bring money, he filed a case of divorce in the court. Frustrated over the harassment and tension, Kalpana poured kerosene on self on December 16 and attempted to kill herself. She was admitted to Dande Hospital for treatment, however, she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.
Ambazari police have booked husband on the basis of the statement given by Kalpana during her treatment in hospital. Cops registered a case under Section 498 (a) of the IPC against Vijay.
