A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 33-year-old man who promised of tying the nuptial knot with her.
The 33-year-old accused Shailesh Jagdishprasad Joshi, a resident of Plot No. 168, Wardha Road, Nagpur, trapped the victim by doling out a marriage promise and then established physical relations with her repeatedly between December 2012 and March 2014. However, the accused later started avoiding the woman.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim, Dhantoli police registered an offence under Section 376 read with sub sections 3 (1) (2), 3 (2) (5) of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 and booked the accused.
