Woman raped by would-be-hubby

Nagpur: In a curious turn of events, a 23-year old woman was raped repeatedly by would-be-husband for one and half year. When the woman protested and refused further sexual exploitation, the accused threatened to defame her in public. The lewd accused has been booked. It could not be verified whether the victimised woman broke up her fixed marriage or parted away.

A Pachpaoli resident, the 23-year old woman was engaged to the accused Vipin Kumbhare (28), resident of Subhash Ward, Mhalgi, Tehsil Tumsar, District Bhandara. After the engagement, the accused Vipin took his fiancée to Ramtek on the pretext of an outing and established physical relations with her forcibly between September 25, 2016 and March 20, 2018. However, when the victimised woman protested and refused further sexual exploitation, the accused Vipin warned her dire consequences and threatened to defame her in public. Taken aback by the exploitation and the threat, the woman registered a case against her would-be-husband with Pachpaoli police. It could not be verified whether the victimised woman broke up her fixed marriage or parted away.

Pachpaoli ASI Mushtaq, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Vipin Kumbhare under Sections 376, 504 of the IPC. Further probe is on.
