Nagpur : AN UNMARRIED middle-aged woman committed suicide by jumping off the ninth floor of Jai Kalpana Building, Ramdaspeth in Sitabuldi area on Thursday early morning.
The deceased,Tanuja alias Pinky Vijay Jaiswal (48), was a resident of Flat No 306, III floor in the same building. However, the reason behind her suicide could not be ascertained so far.
According to Police, Tanuja was staying with her mother Laxmidevi (70) and sister Shailja (50) in the flat. Tanuja was under tremendous depression. Around 6.30 am, she went to the ninth floor and took a plunge from the building.
After security guard raised an alarm, residents gathered and were shocked to find her dead. Staff from Sitabuldi Police Station led by API Dilip Chandan visited the spot.
After recording the statement of Shailja Vijay Jaiswal, sister of the deceased, police registered a case under Section 174 of Code of Criminal Procedure and started investigation.
