Nagpur: A middle-aged woman crossing the road was crushed to death by an unidentified vehicle in Khapri area on Wednesday. The driver of the killer vehicle fled the spot fearing wrath of nearby people.
The resident of Shramik Nagar, Parsodi, Wardha Road, the deceased Vachhala Sriram Madavi (50) was crossing the road walking near Hanuman Temple, Khapri around 7.30 pm on Wednesday. At the same time, an unidentified vehicle, being driven recklessly, hit her with forceful impact. As a result, Vachhala fell on the road and came under the wheels of the speeding vehicle. She died on the spot. The driver, along with his vehicle, fled the spot fearing angry reaction from nearby people.
