Woman, 3 men arrested for honey-trapping trader in Nagpur, demanding Rs 50 lakh

Nagpur: Four persons including a woman have been arrested by Koradi police in Nagpur on the charges of honey-trapping a businessman and demanding Rs 50 lakh from by threatening to make his vulgar photo viral.

The arrested accused have been identified as Disha (45, name changed), resident of Koradi Road, Rakesh Rameshchandra Divaniya (33), resident of Gokuldham Society, Bhopal, Subhash Shersingh Bhawar Barod (34), resident of Shikshak Colony, Jawra, Ratlam, and Javed Khan Mungisurhim Khan (50), resident of Chhaoni Jawara, Madhya Pradesh.

The victim trader’s family has a business of spare parts in Wadi. Around two-months back, he had a friendship with Disha through Instagram. Both exchanged their mobile phone numbers and started chatting with each other. Disha has posed herself as a senior officer in Seoni’s District Collector’s office. Some time back, the accused Disha had taken a flat on rent in Kambhale Tower, Koradi. On December 16, she called the victim trader to her flat. As the victim reached the flat, the accused woman took him to the bedroom and asked him to remove clothes. The accused woman then started photographing the victim trader. Later, on the pretext of forgetting to lock the door, the accused woman went to the hall of the flat.

In the meanwhile, three other accused men entered the bedroom and started clicking a video. The three men later accused the trader of raping the woman and threatened to make the photographs and video viral. They demanded Rs 50 lakh as extortion for not lodging a police complaint. However, when the victim trader expressed his inability to pay the money, the accused thrashed him and let him go.

The trader later apprised his father about the entire episode and subsequently lodged a complaint with Koradi police in this connection.

Acting on the complaint, a team of Koradi police raided the woman’s flat and arrested the four accused. It is learnt that the woman had previously also indulged in honey-trapping acts.

Police have launched an in-depth investigation into the matter.
