With words ‘I love you death,’ teenage girl ends life in Nagpur

Nagpur: “I love you death” wrote a 13-year old girl and later committed suicide at her residence in Chandramani Nagar in Ajni Police Station area on Monday.

The deceased, Arya Harishchandra Mankar, a Class VIII student of Mount Carmel School, was living at Plot No. 2115, Chandramani Nagar. Her father is working with VRCE while mother is a homemaker. Arya allegedly ended her life at 1 pm when her mother went to take a bath and brother was in the drawing room. Arya, who was studying in the bedroom, hanged herself from a wooden raft with a rope. The incident came to the fore when her mother returned after taking a bath. She was shocked after seeing the dangling body of her daughter. Neighbours also gathered at the spot after hearing screams of Arya’s mother and brother.

On being informed, a team of Ajni police, led by WPSI Shubhangi Mohare, rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. The police searched the room to find whether she left a suicide note or not. After opening her notebook, the police and the family were shocked as Arya was writing poems and quotes on death for the last two months, police said. She also wrote on a page that Corona should spread and I will die. In her notebook, she wrote “I love you death. I like dying.”

According to the family members, Arya was good in studies and secured high ranks in school every year.Her behaviour was absolutely normal in her last interaction with mother, police said, quoting the statement of her mother. A case of accidental death was registered by Ajni Police. A notebook of the girl was seized by the police from her residence in which she had penned down poems on death, police said.
