Western India Regional Council of ICAI has taken up the task of representing the challenges and problems faced by trade and industry to the State and Central Government in an effective manner with professional approach & with a holistic view so that practical and feasible solutions can be worked out, said Chairman of WIRC CA Anil Bhandari while interacting with representatives of various Trade and Industry Associations in Nagpur in the recently organized Trade & Industry meet with WIRC Office Bearers by Nagpur Branch of ICAI. He informed that WIRC team is meeting all the members of trade and industry all over Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat and has constituted a study group to prepare a consolidated document of various issues before the respective Government. He requested members of trade and industry to be offer suggestions to remove anomalies in the current legal and tax structure.

Vice Chairman of WIRC CA. Julfesh Shah informed that State Government has come up with useful schemes of Subsidy for the various industries; however, trade and industry members in most of the cases are not aware about these schemes and hence are not availing it. He informed that WIRC is planning to organize various training programs and seminars specifically on Subsidy Schemes to make trade and industry aware about these subsidy schemes, so that they can take maximum benefits of the same.

Chairman of Nagpur Branch CA. Ashwini Agrawal while coordinating the meet, said that Nagpur branch will organize such type of meetings regularly so that problems of trade & industry related to taxation matters can be represented through WIRC on regular basis. He further informed that Nagpur Branch will organize various programmes jointly with trade & industry association.

President of Nagpur Chamber of Commerce CA. Kailash Jogani urged Chairman WIRC to make representation before Government about operation and administration of Local Body Tax which has been levied in lieu of octroi. He said that entire trade and industry members is feeling oppressed by the manner of implementation of provisions of Local Body Tax.

President of Vidarbha Industries Association Prafull Doshi urged WIRC to represent before Government to make a ONE WINDOW system for various legal compliances to be made to the Government before setting up an industry. He also informed that VIA has sent the suggestions for the same to the Government in the past also but it has not been considered.

Secretary of Vidarbha Tax Payers Association Tejindersingh Renu shared that there is no accountability of the revenue officers in the cases of issue erroneous orders against the tax payers. He requested WIRC to take up this matter with government in effective way so that members of trade & industry are not penalized for no fault on their part.

President of Vidarbha Tax Payers Association J.P. Sharma also shared his views on the occasion.

President of Nag Vidharbha Chamber of Commerce Dipen Agrawal informed that norms for business financing and NPA Norms should be changed in the current global scenario so that it would act as a breather for the Small and Medium Enterprises.
