Nagpur: Political temperature soared on the very first day of the Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature as Congress leader and MLA Nana Patole launched a fierce attack on the BJP Government immediately after entering Vidhan Bhavan on Monday.
Speaking to the media, Patole alleged that the BJP relies on EVM manipulation and bogus voting to retain power, claiming the party lacks genuine public support. “BJP wins elections on the strength of EVMs and fraudulent voting. Since they do not have real backing from the people, they depend on technical tricks,” Patole said.
He further hit back at BJP leaders who often taunt him over his narrow victory margin of 200 votes in the last election. “I openly challenge them, fight an election using ballot paper. I am confident I will win with a massive majority. And if I don’t, I will quit politics,” he declared.
Patole also strongly criticised the State Government over key issues, accusing it of failing the public on farmers’ problems, unemployment, inflation, and law and order. He asserted that the Opposition will raise all these matters aggressively during the ongoing session.
Patole’s explosive remarks have created ripples in political circles, signalling a heated and confrontational Winter Session in the days ahead.
