Winter Chill : Gondia shivers at 7.5 degree, Nagpur touches 8.1

Beating Nagpur, Gondia at 7.5 degree, on Tuesday, has taken the lowest temperature of the season in Vidarbha to another level. On Monday, the city’s minimum temperature had dropped down to 7.8 degree being the coldest of the season in Vidarbha, but a day after it became the second lowest of the season with Gondia replacing it.

On Tuesday, minimum temperature the Nagpur rose to 8.1 degree, five notches below normal, as city has been the second coldest of the region on the day after Gondia. While, the maximum temperature has been 28.6 degree, which is normal.

According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), night temperature of the city is expected to rise further more. By December 23, the temperature is likely to reach 9 degree and two days after, is likely to reach 10 degree. A gradual rise in day temperature can also be expected.

Within the region, Buldhana with minimum temperature 11.8 degree (-2) was hottest on that day followed by Akola at 10.4 (-3), Amravati at 10.2 (-5), Chandrapur at 10 (-3), Yavatmal also at 10 (-5), while Wardha at 9.5 (-4). At the same time, Wardha had the hottest temperature at 28.9 degree (0), followed by Akola at 28.8 degree (-1).

Hazy conditions are likely to prevail for next eight days in the city, along with entire Vidarbha. According to the weather forecast, cold waves are very likely to prevail in the region on Wednesday.
