Nagpur: In a bid to reduce accidents at Mate Square, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has started to close the median gap here, on Saturday.
Notably, locals have raised objections on this gap, from where bikers and motorists often squeeze their vehicle, posing a grievous threat to other commuters and pedestrians.
Due to the gap, connecting both lanes of the road, people here habitually took the middle way causing several minor accidents on this stretch. To avoid any untoward incident in future, the residents raised this issue and wrote Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B in this connection. Following which, the efforts to close the median gap was initiated on Saturday.
