Nagpur: Panic gripped the busy Munje Chowk area on Sunday afternoon after four to five people allegedly arrived carrying weapons, including pistols and swords. According to eyewitnesses, the weapons were openly displayed during a confrontation involving Razzaq Sheikh, brother of gangster Bhuru alias Akram Sheikh.
Razzaq reportedly managed to leave the spot in time, preventing a major incident. The episode has raised concerns among police amid tensions following the recent killing of Razzaq’s 14-year-old son, Abid alias Abu Sheikh.

Abid was allegedly killed on Thursday night in the Jaripatka police station area. Following the killing, tensions reportedly increased between Razzaq and people close to him.
Dispute Reportedly Began Near Lohapul
According to preliminary information, Razzaq had a dispute near Lohapul on Saturday with Bhuru’s brother-in-law and other relatives. The disagreement reportedly stemmed from Razzaq’s anger over an alleged attack on his brother Bhuru and nephew.
Razzaq runs a travel business in the Munje Chowk area. On Sunday, some people allegedly approached him there carrying pistols and swords. The sight of the weapons reportedly created panic among people in the area.
When Razzaq and his associates began leaving the spot, the alleged attackers reportedly followed them for some distance.
Traffic Police Alert Control Room
Traffic police personnel who noticed the incident informed the control room. A team from Sitabuldi Police subsequently reached the location and detained some suspects for questioning.
Further action in the case was underway late Sunday night.
Tension Following Teenager’s Killing
Tensions have reportedly continued in the Jaripatka area following Abid alias Abu’s killing. It has also been alleged that Razzaq pelted stones at and damaged some shops after his son’s death.
Police are also looking into reports that an attack was allegedly being planned during the court appearance of those accused in the teenager’s murder.
Following the latest incident at Munje Chowk, police have increased surveillance in sensitive areas to prevent any further escalation or violent incident.
