Nagpur News: The dark chapter in Bandu (Nandkishore) Salame murder case and non-recovery of his body even after 25-odd days has now started sending tremors across police and WCL circles and in Kanhan town as well. The day after cops felt the heat of relatives’ anger which ultimately triggered a gherao of Kanhan Police Station by citizens led by former MP Prakash Jadhav on Monday, now WCL authorities have thought it prudent and agreed to pump out colossal quantity of water from its tank. The tank has been the epicenter of the tremors as the body of murdered Bandu Salame is reportedly dumped in it by the alleged killers. And even in wildest dreams, pumping out of water from the 350-feet deep tank spread over a large area and then trace the body would prove a mountainous task for any authority.

Kanhan police even summoned a team of expert divers from Pune but the team, after inspecting the water tank vis-à-vis its depth and width, flatly refused to carry out the operation and recover the submerged body of Bandu. Reports have been hovering over a fact that Bandu Salame has been murdered by some contract killers after wife and daughter of the victim hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him. Kanhan police have already arrested the accused Sachin Wadibhasme, Vishal Mahto, Lalita Salame and her daughter for their alleged role in Bandu Salame murder case. Speculations are rife over illicit affairs of Nandkishore’s wife and daughter and the victim was a hurdle in their affairs. Police suspect Lalita and her daughter gave Supari to Sachin Wadibhasme for getting rid of Nandkishore. Further Sachin, with the help of Vishal Mahto, eliminated Nandkishore and then tied his body to a large stone and then threw it into WCL’s water tank in Kanhan.

The initiative of WCL to pump out water from the tank came after the ex-MP Prakash Jadhav held talks with General Manager during gherao of Kanhan Police Station on Monday. Once water is pumped out, it will be not difficult for divers or police to recover body of Bandu.

WCL capability:

The Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) possesses a machine that can pump out 55-lakh liters of water on a single day. And the WCL is planning to deploy 10-12 such machines for the operation. The coal mine giant regularly uses these machines whenever water deluges its mines. However, it will be for the first time in WCL’s history that the machines would be deployed in connection with a murder.
