Nagpur: In a bid to implement development activities in its various spheres of operation for sustainance & inclusive growth, Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited has launched key Missions to have its standardized operations Branded & Benchmarked.
In a two-day Workshop on ‘Corporate Branding & Benchmarking” on 20th & 21st June at Nagpur, WCL has identified activities under Six Missions & a Road Map with timeline for its completion. All activities taken up will be implemented with a focus to create a Brand & to have a Benchmark.
The initiative entails six Mission mode Projects, Mission Sampark, Mission Samarth, Mission Sambandh, Mission Sahyog, Mission Sanrakshan & Mission Sanchar. These Mission will deal with Care for Consumers, an attempt towards Ease of doing Business by providing customer friendly coal. Care for Efficiency creating benchmarks of best performing Mines and replicating it. Care for Employees, addressing the behavioural aspects of employees focusing on strengthening the sense of belongingness towards the organization. Care for Community, focusing on sustainable development of society by delivering economic, social and environmental benefits. Care for Nature, related to environment conservation and promoting activities like Eco-Mine Tourism, exploring clean coal technology and renewable energy options & Care to Connect, which aims to increase the outreach of Brand WCL respectively.
The workshop had presence of Sutirtha Bhattacharya, Chairman, Coal India Ltd., P. S Bhattacharyya, Former Chairman, CIL, R Mohandas, Director (Per & IR), CIL, CMD, WCL Shri Rajiv Ranjan Mishra & all Functional Directors S.S. Malhi, Director (Tech/Operation), B.K. Mishra, Director (Tech/P&P), Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director(Personnel), S.M. Choudhary, Director (Finance) of WCL along with Area GMs, HODs & other members of Team WCL.
WCL, during last one year, has already established its Brand & Benchmark in developing Eco-Mine Tourism, Opening of mines, use of Mine for irrigation & drinking purposes, Skill Development for Rural Youth etc. In a way forward, WCL has drawn a detailed Roadmap for its core activities, coal production, technology, quality, marketing, environment, safety, welfare, CSR etc. to be taken up & completed in a Mission mode.
WCL has already gone ahead in launching Mission Sampark under Care for Consumer. A transparent & easy single window system has been introduced to make coal consumer friendly.
WCL believes this is an opportune moment to rebrand itself to deliver an experience of satisfaction to all the stake holders like its consumers, service providers, employees of the company, project affected people and also the society at large with environment in specific.
