Nagpur: The investigation in the Wasankar Scam has been going on for last two years and the Wasankar brothers are lodged in Jail. And it will not be difficult to make out how the investigation is progressing. Sources suspect involvement of many influential people in Nagpur and other cities in this scam, however every other day the cops are weaving new theory to fabricate and jeopardize the scam. Now a police officer probing Wasankar Scam being allegedly threatened has come to the fore recently. According to information, instead of registering a case the concerned police officer has only mentioned about the threat received in the station diary. Actually, the role of the concerned police officer in this case is said to be under suspicion.
According to sources, many influential persons from the city are associated in the Wasankar scam. Actually, Wasankar had parked lot of funds into many businesses in the city and all these dealing are not documented. The beneficiaries of these dealings have come in the radar of the investigating agency.
According to sources, the concerned police officer probing the wasankar case is allegedly exhorting money from the beneficiaries of the Wasankar scam. The police officer is using front men to exhort money from these beneficiaries. This police officer is said to have indirectly helped the Wasankar brothers also.
The victims of the wasankar scam had earlier complained to the police higher officials about the concerned police officer. However, nothing much was done after that. On Tuesday, the (economic offences wing) of the crime branch conducted raids at the offices of Tajshree group promoted Avinash Bhute due to his links in the Wasankar scam.
The crime branch had seized 120 Honda city cars and 137 two wheelers from his gowdown situated at MIDC. However, Avinash Bhute had claimed that the police is troubling him unnecessarily and he threatened to harm himself.
