Nagpur: Political parties have geared up preparation for upcoming NMC polls scheduled early next year. Congress would contest the elections under Nagpur city president Vikas Thakre. Thakre is all confident to take away power from the rival BJP which is currently ruling the civic body.
In an exclusive video interview with Nagpur Today, Vikas Thakre claimed a clean sweep for Congress in the ensuing Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections. Thakre also said the NMC has become a den of corruption. The people are deprived of basic amenities while the condition of roads has gone from bad to worse. He also exuded confidence that the citizens have made up their minds to vote for Congress to bring about the required development in Nagpur.
Thakre also trashed the four-ward poll strategy of BJP, saying that Congress has always won the polls based on ward system and the situation would be no different this year.
