Nagpur: As the rage about pads has been suddenly echoing in the atmosphere, thanks to super star Akshay Kumar who has been throwing challenges before B-town celebs to pose with pads and upload their pics on social media, Nagpur too is not an exception! Actually Akki’s new found interest in sanitary pads emanates from the fact that the release of his new movie Padman – based on the story of a man who introduced cheap sanitary pads in rural areas of India, is round the corner. Back home, girls in Nagpur too have voiced their concern over the need to bring more awareness on menstrual cycle of women.
When Nagpur Today freaked out to quiz young and happening city gals to throw some light on the emerging trend on sanitary pads, nearly all of them focussed on changing the mentality of boys in the matter.
While few girls find the taboo rooted deep into the age old Indian tradition, few others think the times have changed and more people have surfaced above the ‘darkness of ignorance’ about menstruation periods.
During the course of interaction, boys too turned vocal about bringing more awareness about sanitary pads so that it would not be sold wrapped in paper – a telling sign of hitch and hesitation on both sides of the counter.
Let’s take a look what Nagpur people think about this new age pad revolution.
