Nagpur: Dr Rajvilas Narkhede, Consultant, Surgical Gastroenterology at Alexis Hospital has risen red-flagged over the rampant surge of Fatty Liver conditions i.e. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Diseases (NAFLD). In an exclusive interview with Nagpur Today, Dr Rajvilas Narkhede also threw light on a variety of factors — alcohol, viruses, obesity etc — that damage the liver.
Over prolonged time, the conditions that damage the Liver can lead to Cirrhosis, which can lead to liver failure, a life-threatening condition. But early treatment may give the liver time to heal, Dr Rajvilas Narkhede elaborated.
Dr Rajvilas Narkhede also cleared the misconceptions surrounding the liver diseases that it only causes in old age. He also discussed various symptoms and suggested precautions on how to avoid these complications.
