Directed to give statements with restraint

Nagpur: The President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Praveen Togadia who had recently worded a strong statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches on cow vigilantism was summoned to the Head Quarters of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) on August 17, 2016.
Togadia had claimed that PM Modi has insulted ‘Gau Rakshaks’. VHP President Pravin Togadia had said that Modi’s directive to States to create dossiers of cow vigilantes amounted to ‘racial profiling’ of Hindus. Sources claimed that the RSS was not happy with Togadia’s statement against PM Modi. It is believed that the RSS is in full support of PM Modi on his stand against fake cow vigilantes (Gau Rakshaks). In spite of knowing the RSS stand on the issue, he still went on to give an Anti-Modi statement.
The Sangh Prachar Pramukh (RSS Spokes person) Manmohan Vaidhya had already issued a statement that Prime Minister statement was in the right spirit. In such a situation, the statement of Togadia not only went against the stand taken by RSS but was also against the government and was sending a wrong message to the nation.
It is presumed that the meeting between President of VHP Praveen Togadia and Chief of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh Mohan Bhagwat held in RSS Head Quarters on August 17, 2016 was on this issue only. It is assumed that Togadia has been advised to issue statements with restraint in future.
Presently the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh is standing in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In such a situation, Togadia’s statement could send wrong message to the nation about the image of government. The RSS definitely does not want this, which is probably why Togadia was summoned and advised to show restraint while issuing statements.
The on-going Dalit protest is already affecting the government’s image. The Government is attempting a damage control of the Dalit protest which started from the Prime Minister’s home state. On the other hand, such a statement by Tagodia was adversely affecting the attempts of repairing the situation.
In a few days time, there will be elections in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. These elections will play a politically crucial role for the party. The party has to win back the trust of the people in Gujarat while they will have to repeat the success they got in last Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.
In this situation, the RSS and the BJP is carefully planning a war plan taking into account all considerations. However, every now many anti-government statements keep creeping-up from those organization allied with RSS. The RSS is gearing up to control such elements, making them understand the future plans and advising them to make statements in public with restraint. Before Togadia, even Subramanian Swamy had also visited RSS Headquarters. Like Togadia, even Subramanian Swamy was often seen making anti-government statement in public. However, a stern message is going to such people.
Praveen Togadia was inside the Head Quarters of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh for over five hours. It is assumed that discussions were held on the expansion of VHP and the up-coming elections. It is said that Togadia had his lunch in the RSS Head Quarters.
