Nagpur: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has stepped up efforts in its bid to mount pressure for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and is organising a massive rally in Nagpur called ‘Hunkar Sabha ’ on November 25. People connected with this rally said that the event is being organised in view of deliberate delay in building Ram Mandir.

The Chairman of Organising Committee of ‘Hunkar Sabha’ in Nagpur Sanjay Bhende, addressing a press conference on Wednesday, said that the enormous delay has been causing unrest among devotees. “The devotees are losing patience. It was being hoped that justice could get by the court verdict. But the way Supreme Court deferred hearing it seems the issue is not priority for them. It seems deliberate delay is being caused and the matter is being kept hanging. The rally is aimed at exerting pressure on government to issue an ordinance for construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya on the lines of Somnath Mandir. The movement for Ram Mandir was launched in 1984 and still continuing in the year 2018. Despite so long wait and intense movement, no solution has been found as yet. We are not exerting pressure on the present government but only apprising the government about sentiments of people.

The government must respect the sentiments of people. The rally has absolutely no connection with the elections. Hindus have patiently waited for decades for a legal verdict to start construction of Ram Mandir. But now our patience is running out. Government of the day and judicial institutions must take into account the seething anger in the minds of majority community or else it will explode one day,” Bhende warned.

Bhende further said that VHP, for the first time, met the President of India and Governors on the temple issue. “The Hunkar Sabha is being organised by VHP and that every devotee of Lord Ram can participate in it. The RSS activists will also participate in the rally as Lord Ram devotees. As far as reported objections raised by Akhada Samiti, VHP has not received any objections. The rally is being organised with the guidance and directives of saints,” he said.

Others present at the press meet include Convener Sanad Gupta, Joint Convener Dinesh Gaur, VHP’s Vidarbha Prant President Raju Niwal, Vice President Govind Shende, Arrangements Chief Prof Ajay Nildawar, and Publicity Chief Anil Sambre.
