Veteran journalists Purushottam Agrawal passes away

Purushottam was a family member of Dainik Rashtradoot, Founder Editor of Dainik Prernapunj published from Amravati and a strong Pro-Vidarbha leader

Purushottam AgrawalNagpur: City looses one more veteran journalist. Purushottam Harikisan Agrawal aged 60 years, passed away on September 23, 2014 at Pune after battling with cancer.

Purushottam Agrawal had been active in journalism and politics right from his student days. He has always been committed in the struggle for a separate Vidarbha. He was an active Congress activist and was the chief among the founders of “Ghantanath Andolan”. He has been the Sub-Divisional office-bearer of Congress party. He started an eveninger 25 years ago in Amravati and got recognition for Hindi journalism in the area.

He enjoyed very good relationship with all the leaders of Nagpur-Vidarbha. He was also the Deputy Head of Agrasen Mandal. He was the fifth among 8 siblings. He leaves behind mother Savitridevi, wife Usha Agrawal, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his demise.
His mortal remains were flown in to the city on a special flight from Pune. His funeral and last rites will be performed in Mokshadam at 12 noon on September 24, 2014. The funeral will start at 11 am from his brother Shiv Agrawal’s (Managing Editor of Dainik Rashtradoot) house Ekdant Apartment, Jhanda Chowk, Dharampeth.
