Mumbai/Goa: Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 after his health suddenly deteriorated at his flat in Goa on Thursday morning, according to reports. He complained of severe chest pain, following which a medical team was called.
The medical team found him unconscious and immediately attempted CPR. He was then taken to Manipal Hospital in Goa, where doctors declared him dead at around 5:20 a.m.
Nana Patekar’s death was confirmed by his son, Malhar Patekar. According to Malhar, he was leaving for Goa, and the full details of the incident would become clear only after he arrived there.
Nana Patekar was among the artists of Hindi cinema who built a special place in the hearts of audiences through his powerful acting and distinctive style. He also worked extensively in theatre alongside his film career.
News of his death has sent a wave of grief through the film industry and among his fans. Large numbers of people are paying tribute to him on social media.
