Valuables worth Rs 3 lakhs burgled from two houses

: In two separate incidents, gold ornaments and cash worth Rs three lakhs have been burgled from two houses in different areas in the city.

In the first case, the victim Uma Meghraj Shahu aged 40 years and a resident of Hanuman Nagar, Bhandewadi has lodged a complaint with Kalamna Police Station that some unidentified thieves had gained entry in her house by breaking open the lock of the main door. The burglars had allegedly stolen cash and valuables worth Rs 80,000/- from the steel almirah. The theft is alleged to have occurred somewhere between July 13, 2016 to July 17, 2016.

The victim Uma Shahu is supposed to have gone to her native place after locking her house. She discovered the theft only after her arrival. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim Uma Shahu, the Kalamna Police has registered a case of theft against unidentified burglars and is investigating further.

The second burglary took place in Shantinagar. The victim identified as Prachi Pankaj Harode aged 25 years and a resident of Premnagar Kumbharpura had gone with her ailing son to the Doctors clinic in the locality after locking their house.

Taking advantage of her absence some unidentified burglars had gained entry by breaking open the lock on the main door and burgled gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 19,000/- in all totaling Rs 2 lakhs 11,000/-.

On the basis of her complaint the cops of Shantinagar Police Station have lodged a case against unidentified burglars and are investigating further.
