Nagpur: An unidentified miscreant attacked 45-year old man with sharp-edged weapon and tried to kill him over undisclosed reasons. The identity of the victim is also not known. The incident took place under NMC bridge in Dhantoli jurisdiction on Thursday night.
The unidentified man suffered grievous injuries on left side of stomach and has been admitted to Mayo Hospital. The reason behind the attack could not be ascertained so far.
Based on a complaint lodged by Police Constable Praful Namdeo Ingole, Dhantoli WPSI G S Waghade has booked the unidentified assailant under Section 307 of the IPC and searching him.
It may be recalled that a ‘psychopath’ knife-wielding attacker is on the loose in city and has stabbed six women so far, under the jurisdictions of various police stations. The attacks on women occurred in the month of January. Cops seem clueless as the ‘mysterious’ stalker eludes them and roaming freely as well.
However, the link between the attack on the man and stabbings of women by the bike-borne ‘psychopath’ could not be verified.
