Nagpur:
Union Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Minister Uma Bharti on Thursday celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the jawans of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Even though Uma Bharti herself did not tie Rakhi to the jawans following the principle of a Sanyasi, she won love and accolades as well when other women on her behalf tied Rakhis to the stone-faced jawans of CRPF. Uma Bharti applied ‘Tilaks’ on foreheads of jawans and offered sweets to them.

Addressing the function, held at Central Reserve Police Force Group Centre, Hingna Road, Uma Bharti said, “While facing the unrest in the northeastern region of the country, Kashmir region and internal security challenges, our police forces, paramilitary forces and Army personnel stayed committed for nation’s safety despite lack of some facilities available for them. Their self-strength is unparalleled in the world “, stated the Minister. Sunil Singh, Inspector General, Central Reserve Police Force, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, DIG, CRPF and Dinesh Unniyal were present in the programme.

The Minister also planted a sapling in the premises of CRPF. Central Reserve Police Force personnel, officials, their family members were present in large numbers at the programme.
