Nagpur News : A middle-aged man was arrested while a youth was booked for allegedly molesting two women in separate incidents at Jaripatka and Lakadganj.
In the first case, a 35-year-old married woman was allegedly molested by a 33-year-old man on Monday. The complainant informed the police that she was watching television on Monday at around10.45 pm when the accused Jitendra Vasudev Sharma (33), a resident of Jaripatka, barged into her house. The accused then confessed his interest in the victim and proposed her to marry him. However, the victim refused him and asked him to go away from the house.
Enraged over her refusal, Jitendra molested her and also threatened to kill her children and husband if she refuses to marry him. Scared of the warning, the victim immediately lodged a complaint with Jaripatka police who arrested the accused and registered an offence under sections 354 (a), 506, and 448 of the IPC.
In another case that took place in Lakadganj, a youth was booked for allegedly molesting a 19-year-old girl on Monday night. The accused is Praful Dolarkar, a resident near Topre’s well, Pachpaoli. According to the statement given to police, the victim informed that she was busy in saree work when she heard a knock on the door at around 1.45 pm on Monday. When the victim opened the door, she found Praful standing at her door. He barged into the house and tried to outrage the modesty of the girl. The girl somehow managed to escape the scene and lodged a complaint with Lakadganj police.
Cops have registered an offence under Section 354 (a) (1) of the IPC and booked the youth.
