Nagpur: Two minor girls and a teenage college-bound girl have reportedly been kidnapped from different areas of the city in the past 24 hours. Cops have launched a search to trace the missing girls.

In the first incident, two girls, aged 8 and 10, both residents of Tehsil, left home around 2 pm on Thursday after taking Rs 10 from their parents for something to eat. However, both the girls did not return home even after lapse of considerable time and since then have gone missing. The panicky relatives searched the girls at all possible places but in vain. Finally, a complaint was lodged with Tehsil police in this connection.

PSI R V Ambore, as per the Supreme Court directives that if a minor girl or boy goes missing then the case should be treated as that of kidnapping, registered an offence under Section 363 of the IPC and launched a search to trace the girls.

Similarly, a 16-year old girl, resident of Kalamna area, went to her college around 11.30 am on Thursday as usual. However, since then she did not return home nor informed her parents about her whereabouts. Her relatives searched her frantically but could not find her. Finally, a case was registered with Kalamna police in this regard.

PSI Sonparote, in accordance with the Supreme Court ruling, registered a case under Section 363 (kidnapping) and searching for her.
