Two girls rescued from ‘The Legend Hotel’ on Wardha Road

Nagpur: Two girls were rescued from flesh trade by the Social Security Wing of Nagpur Crime Branch from The Legend Hotel situated on Wardha Road a few distance from the Airport approach road on October 15, 2016.

According to police sources, based on a tip off, the Social Security Wing of Nagpur Crime Branch raided the Legend Hotel and rescued two girls who were forced into flesh trade by a couple identified as Amit Matedar and his wife Ritu Matedar.

According to information, the couple Amit Matedar and his wife Ritu Matedar lured young girls from Yavatmal with the lure that they can buy cheap cloth and apparel from Nagpur and sell it at good price in Yavatmal. Once these girls come to Nagpur, they were forced into flesh trade by the Amit Matedar and his wife Ritu Matedar in The Legend Hotel situated on Wardha Road.

The accused duo are identified as Amit Matedar aged 42 years and his wife identified Ritu Matedar aged 29 years and both residents of Ragini Apartment, Vishal Nagar, Yavatmal.

These accused had connived and with an ulterior motive to make big sums of money, used to lure young girls with the lure of making large sums of money in purchase and sale of readymade apparel from wholesale market in cheap rate and selling it in Yavatmal in double the cost.

The couple used to rent rooms in The Legend Hotel and force the young girls into flesh trade.

On verifying the facts, after getting approval, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (EOW & Cyber Cell) Ishu Sindhu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nilesh Raut, the team led by Senior Police Inspector of Social Security Wing of Nagpur Crime Branch carried out the raid along with Police Sub Inspector Sonali Patil, Woman Police Sub Inspector Amita Jaipurkar, Assistant Police Sub Inspector Ingole, Head Constable Gopal Vaidhya, Nail Police Constable Manoj Singh Chauhan, Ajay Ghatole, Sanjay Pande, Constables Prafulla Bondre, Woman Police Constable Anita Dhurve, Surekha Sandekar, Sadhana Chauhan, Assistant Police Sub Inspector Baliram Rewatkar, Driver Anil Dube and Social Worker Jayanthi Jaidev Majumdar raided the premises and rescued two girls hailing from Yavatmal from the forced flesh trade carried out by the accused.

Since the duo were running the flesh trade in close proximity of Mother’s Pet kindergarten (situated within 200 meters) from the Hotel where the flesh trade was carried out, the accused were arrested and a case was registered in Sonegaon Police Station under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and Under Sections 370 and 34 to be read with Sub-sections 3, 4, 5, 7 of Indian Penal Code.
