Nagpur : Two job-seekers were duped of Rs 1.41 Lakh by three members of a family, who had assured them jobs in Indian Railways.

Complainant Ritesh Radhesham Sahu (21), a resident of Lodhipura in Bajeriya, was working in a shop at Sitabuldi. Accused Prakash Khandekar, Mandabai Prakash Khandekar and Pravesh Prakash Khandekar, residents of Plot No. 3445/A Kasturba Nagar near Dayanand Park, had met the complainant at his workplace back in January 2017.

Accused Prakash had introduced himself as a Railway official. Luring the victim with the promise of a job in Railways, the accused had collected cash on several occasions from the applicant and his friend Gokul Prajapati.

The matter came to light when the accused sent fake call letter to the aspirant. When the victim learnt the truth, Prakash sought some time but never returned the amount. He also changed his and his accomplice’s phone numbers. Therefore, Ritesh approached Ganeshpeth police station.

Ganeshpeth police have registered a case of fraud under relevant sections and started further probe.
