Tuesday tragedy: Four killed, 4 injured in road accidents

Tuesday the August 23 turned deadly as speed killed four persons and injured as many in different road accidents in city. The victims include an 8-year old girl and an employee of Nagpur Metro Rail Project.

In the first incident, three teenagers Suresh Kumar Pusam (20), Malasingh Ratilal Dhurve (20) and Vinodkumar Ratilal Dhurve, all natives of District Mandla (MP), were going towards Hingna on their CBZ motorcycle (MH-40/X 1088) triple seat around 10 pm on Tuesday. As the trio was nearing Mauza Veda Harishchandra Shivar, a recklessly driven four-wheeler coming from wrong side rammed their bike with forceful impact. As a result, the three teenagers suffered grievous injuries with Suresh Kumar Pusam dying on the spot. Malasingh and Vinodkumar were taken to a nearby hospital where they are reportedly battling for life. Shockingly, the driver of the killer four-wheeler fled the spot along with vehicle fearing backlash from nearby people.
Hingna PSI Dhanorkar booked the unidentified driver under Sections 279, 337, 338, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sub-Section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.

An 8-year old girl succumbed to critical injuries she received when a 4-wheeler hit her while she was crossing the road along with her mother. The deceased Maheshwari Waman Shende and her mother, residents of Sonegaon Nipani, were returning home walking after tying Rakhi to her cousin brother at about 5.30 pm on Sunday (August 21). As the mother-daughter duo was crossing road near Bharat Apartment on Amravati Road, a speeding four-wheeler (MH-27/AR 0801) rammed the kid and left her seriously injured. The profusely bleeding Maheshwari was rushed to Mayo Hospital but succumbed to her injuries around 4 am on Wednesday.

Wadi API Shinde, based on a complaint lodged by father of the deceased Waman Shende, has registered a case against the driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC.

An employee of Nagpur Metro Rail, manning traffic at work site, was knocked dead by a Scorpio car at Ajni Square on Tuesday. The deceased Maroti Shyamrao Thakre (40), native of Chhindwara (MP), who worked with Nagpur Metro Rail Project as Traffic Warden, was on duty near Ajit Bakery, Ajni Square on Tuesday. The work of Metro Bore Playing was being carried at the site at about 4 pm and Maroti was manning the road traffic. Suddenly, a Scorpio car, driven by unidentified driver, knocked Maroti with forceful impact. The grievously injured Maroti was taken to Orange City Hospital by his colleagues but he died during the course of treatment.

Dhantoli PSI Jhadokar has booked the Scorpio driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act.

In the fourth incident, a 32-year old man lost his life when the motorcycle he was riding crashed onto a road divider on Maharajbagh-Variety Square Road on Tuesday. The deceased Mohd Yakub Mohd Issac (32) of Mominpura along with two others Mohd Fayyaz Mohd Safi (27) and Akhtaril Ahmed, both residents of Mominpura, were riding on a Discover bike (MH-34/AF 695) and going towards Variety Square from Maharajbagh Square around 2 am of Wednesday. Midway, near NCC Officer, Mohd Yakub lost control over the speeding motorcycle and crashed it on road divider. All the three injured were taken to Mayo Hospital. But the doctors there declared Mohd Yakub brought dead.

Sitabuldi PSI Puri has registered a case under Sections 279, 304(A), 338 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
