Nagpur: A Mahindra Bolero pick-up truck crushed a 13-year-old boy to death and injured his uncle seriously at Pardi Chowk on Tuesday morning. Fearing public violence, the driver of the pick-up truck ran away leaving his vehicle at the spot.
The deceased, Ayush Santosh Mishra, was a resident of Satyam Nagar, Pardi. Injured Ajay Ramashankar Dubey (25), also a resident of Pardi, has been admitted to Bhavani Hospital.

According to police, Ajay Dubey and his nephew Ayush were returning home from Bhandara Road on a motorcycle (MH-40/BV-6707) around 8.40 am. A pick-up truck (MH40/BL-1823) hit their bike from behind. Ajay and Ayush fell off the bike. Ayush came under the wheels of the truck and was killed instantaneously. However, passers-by rushed the uncle-nephew duo to Bhavani Hospital where doctors declared Ayush dead.
Pardi Police detained the pick-up truck and launched a search for its driver.
