Trickster dupes woman of Rs 52,200

Nagpur: Trickster duped a young woman from MIDC area of Rs 52,200 by promising a job in Kotak Mahindra Bank. A resident of Plot No 38, Gedam Layout, MIDC, Chhaya Bharat Chauhan (32), had applied on Quikr.com (an online classified advertising platform) for a suitable job.

She received a call on November 12 from Quikr App. The caller identified himself as Abhishek from Quikr.com and promised her a job in Kotak Mahindra Bank. He asked her to deposit Rs 52,200 in a bank account.

After Chhaya deposited the amount in the bank account number given by the caller, he siphoned off the money and issued her a fake appointment letter. MIDC Police registered a case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and started the probe.
