Traders perform Gaddi Pujan on Bharatiya New Year

Traders and Team Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Nagpur celebrated Bharatiya New Year Samvat 2072 Chaitra Pratipada Ekam in traditional manner. The main programme was held in office of Confederation of All India Traders.  The traders under guidance of National President (CAIT)
B C Bhartia performed Gaddi Pujan, Bahi Khata and Chopda Pujan, decorated their shops, lit Diyas (earthen lamps) distributed sweats and greeted each other good wishes for Bharatiya New Year.

Explaining the importance of Bharatiya New Year B C Bhartia said that the Bharatiya were first to understand the importance of auspicious day of Vikram Samvat Chaitra 1. In real terms, it signified the nature taking a new turn. After shedding the old leaves, the trees start growing new leaves.  The farmer after cutting its old crops will start preparing for new crops.  On this day Lord Brahma created the world.  Bhartia said that Chaitra starts sometime in last week of March or first week of April and this is the reason why the financial year of Government has also been adopted from April 1 to March 31.  He appealed to all to start celebrating Bharatiya New Nav Varsha in traditional manner.
