Nagpur News: The Nagpur union of working journalist (NUWJ) in association with the Tilak Patrakaar Bhawan organized a program at Tilak Patrakar Bhawan to mark International Labor day. Noted Economist Shrinivas Khandiwale was the chief guest for the program and Secretary of Tilak Patrakar Bhawan Trust and senior journalist Shirish Borkar was the speaker for the interactive session.

Secretary of Tilak Patrakar Bhawan Trust and senior journalist Shirish Borkar raised many questions on the anti labor policies of the government during his speech. He added that government doesn’t find the problems of labors or the working class hence no steps have been taken to give them their rights. Borkar added that government should setup Fast Track Courts for Labor’s cases. Talking about the various problems of working journalists, Borkar said that it is sad that the law has not yet specified the rights of the elite work force that works 24X7 for the society in bringing out vital information of the happenings and occurrences. Borkar added that the journalism which was started as a mission has now become business and the r journalists who are known as the fourth pillar of the society are victimized by the Corporate Lobby and the journalists are forced to work in this obnoxious system. Mentioning about the Working journalist act Borkar said there is  a need of amendments in the act hence no changes has been done after it is formend in 1955.Borkar demanded “Third Press Commission” to study the basic problems of Media people.

The chief guest of the program Noted Economist Shrinivas Khandiwale in his speech said that the working class has to stand for their rights and have to fight for themselves. Shrinivas Khandiwale said that it is sad that the Trade Union Moment is ending slowly and this is a discouraging factor for working class and there is a strong need of working class moment added Shrinivas Khandiwale. Talking about the working class Shrinivas Khandiwale said that the employee work under the terrorism of loosing the job and this is the reason for the exploitation of labors and working class people. Shrinivas Khandiwale added that the trade union has to come forward for the rights of this very import working class.

President of Nagpur union of working journalist Bramhashankar Tripathi, General Secretary of Nagpur union of working journalist Anupam Soni and the office bearers of Nagpur union of working journalist and Tilak Patrakar Bhawan Trust were also present on the occasion.
