Nagpur: Unable to bear her husband’s alcohol addiction and continuous torture, a 25-year-old woman, identified as Bhomeshwari Manoj Rahangdale, took her own life. The incident took place in the Wathoda police station area late Saturday night.
The deceased was a resident of Plot No. 35, New Suraj Nagar, Bhandewadi. According to police, Bhomeshwari’s husband, Manoj, was addicted to alcohol and subjected her to constant abuse. She hanged herself using a rope tied to an iron pipe at her home. When family members found her hanging, they rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Married woman commits suicide in Wadi
In another incident, a married woman committed suicide in Wadi area on Sunday morning. Investigation revealed that the woman was under medical treatment for depression. The deceased was identified as Pranali Sushil Ghodeswar (25), a resident of Plot No. 33, Palkar Nagar, Eighth Mile,Wadi.
According to police, Pranali married Sushil last year. Before marriage, she was under treatment for depression like disease and the treatment was continued even after the marriage. Sushil, who works with Ordnance Factory, left home on Sunday morning. Pranali hanged herself from a ceiling fan with a scarf when her father-in-law was sitting in the courtyard.
A case of accidental death was registered by Wadi police.
