Panic reigned in Government run Remand Home when three children go missing from the remand home on January 31, 2015.

The missing boys are identified as Kartik Deva Bhosle (Nayar), Sandeep Motiram Dhurve and Mohammed Raji.

According to police sources, there is a Government run Remand Home in Jaripatka area. All the three boys Kartik Deva Bhosle (Nayar), Sandeep Motiram Dhurve and Mohammed Raji were kept in the Remand Home. On January 31, 2015, all the three boys were sent in an auto-rickshaw to Vaishali Higher Secondary School, Nagsen, Mishal Layout. All the three boys managed to give a slip to the teachers there and escape from there. When the three boys did not return back, the Warden of the Remand Home Bharti Mankar lodged a complaint with Jaripatka Police Station. The Jaripatka Police have registered a case of missing children and are investigating further.

However, this is not a new case, on January 30, two more boys had escaped from the Government Remand Home. The missing boys are identified as Rudra Kanojia aged 8-years-old and Karan Dayaram Mahto aged 9-years-old. Both these boys went missing from the Remand Home at around 11:00 am of January 26, 2015. Even after the lapse of two days, no information about their whereabouts is known to the authorities.

According to police sources, the Remand Home is situated at Angulimal Nagar. Both the boys Rudra Kanojia and Karan Dayaram Mahto were committed by court to this Remand Home. When these two boys suddenly disappeared on January 26, 2015, the Warden of the Remand Home Moreshwar Zade aged 45 years and a resident of Uday Nagar, Hudkeshwar Road, lodged a complaint with Jaripatka Police Station. The Jaripatka Police has registered a case under section 363 of Indian Penal Code of Kidnapping against the unknown accused.

This makes the total number of missing or escaping boys to 5 in a matter of eight days. Is this not raising some concern for the authorities who should be taking this matter seriously? Should they not investigate as to exact cause of these kids running away from a safe haven?
