Nagpur: If you have the chief minister’s ears then it is wise to put forth your suggestions. That’s exactly what Marathi theatre actor Prashant Damle did on Friday as he shared the stage with Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amruta at the inauguration of cultural organization Kalarang along with a three-day commercial theatre festival in the city.

Marathi dramas have enriched the cultural world of Maharashtra. Drama is also an effective means of social awakening. But there are challenges before this medium of entertainment and education. The biggest of them is the lack of proper stadium or auditorium to stage the dramas. However the government is aware of the problem and hence the auditoriums across the state would be upgraded said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He speaking after inaugurating the three day Kalarang Mahotsav at Vasantrao Deshpande hall on Friday. Chief Minister’s wife Amruta Fadnavis was the chief guest, senior actor Dilip Prabhavalkar, Actress Reema Lagoo, Prashant Damle, Arun Nalavade and actress Sonali Kulkarni were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister further said that he spent two years fighting the drought situation but this year the state has received a good rainfall and hence he has got a lot of time to pay attention to other problems also. He assured that all the challenges before the cultural field could be tackled with confidence.

From 11 to 14 November, 2016 – the plays being performed are the following:Shree Bai Samarth, starring Nirmiti Sawant and Arun Nalawade among others; Don’t Worry Be Happy starring Spruha Joshi and Umesh Kamat Ti Fulrani, starring Girish Oak, Katyar Kaljat Ghusli starring Prashant Damle and Tejashree Pradhan; Sangeet Sanshaykallol starring Prashant Damle and Rahul Deshpande.
