Three Children from Madhya Pradesh Rescued from Labour in Nagpur

Nagpur: Acting swiftly on a complaint received via Child Helpline 1098, the District Child Protection Team rescued three child labourers, including two boys and one girl, from different locations in the city here, on Wednesday.

According to the information received, the rescue operation was carried out in the Railway Museum area near Kadbi Chowk, Nagpur. During the preliminary inquiry, officials found that all three children were natives of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.

The rescued minors have been provided with immediate counselling, and further legal procedures are underway to ensure their rehabilitation. Authorities have confirmed that strict action will be taken against those responsible under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.

Officials urged citizens to report any instance or suspicion of child labour by contacting Child Helpline 1098 without delay.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of District Women and Child Development Officer Sunil Meshram, led by District Child Protection Officer Mustaq Pathan, along with Child Helpline representatives Aniket Bhivgade, Meenakshi Dhadade, Mangala Tembhurne, and Ranjit Kumbhare.
