“There should be censorship on songs too,” Sukhwinder Singh

Nagpur: Asserting that music has boundaries, noted Singer Sukhwinder Singh on Thursday said that art and politics should be kept apart. The Bollywood singer arrived in the city on Thursday to perform during the Khasdar Mahotsav. He was addressing media persons. He further said that music not only inspires, but also cherishes one’s soul.

When questioned about nepotism in the film industry, Singh said that he never had any such experience and the entire industry could not be blamed for the deeds of a few families.

Talking about reality shows, the noted singer said that they provided an excellent platform to budding singers. However, very few people actually have the talent to win people’s hearts.

Sukhwinder Singh said that music should be modernized but keeping in mind the culture of Indian music. Expressing concern about the increasing adult content in songs, he said that even songs should be censored.
