Nagpur: The MIDC Police have launched a theft investigation against the guard supervisor of Metal Fab Hightech Private Limited and several accomplices accused of stealing 12 iron plates (weighing 4 tonnes) and two iron beams (totaling one tonne), with a combined value of Rs 1.5 lakh, using the company’s crane, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The case was filed following a complaint by Rajesh Bhaskarrao Kadu (51), residing at Flat No. 44, Amar Sanjay Society, Manish Nagar, Wardha Road, under Section 381 of the IPC, which pertains to theft by an employee in possession of the employer’s property.
The accused include guard supervisor Sheetal Turkar (26) from Gondia, along with Praveen Manik Meshram (42) from Sonba Nagar, Khadgaon; Prajwal Shantaram Bagde (19) from Ganesh Nagar, Dabha; and Deepak Shivkumar Prajapati (20) from Waddhamna.
According to Rajesh’s complaint, during a routine inspection, he discovered multiple iron plates and beams missing from the company premises. CCTV footage revealed that the guard supervisor, Sheetal, and his associates used a pickup truck to enter the premises. Subsequently, they allegedly utilized the company’s crane to transport the stolen iron goods, totaling five tonnes in weight.
In response to the complaint, the police have apprehended Praveen and Deepak, with efforts ongoing to locate the remaining suspects.
