A minor girl has alleged that a youth had repeatedly raped her promising marriage, leading to her pregnancy. Jaripatka police have arrested the 19-year-old youth.
The 17-year-old girl has lodged a complaint with Jaripatka police on Thursday and alleged that a teenager, identified as Samrat Gopi Gondane (19) and a resident of Indora, Republican Nagar, had befriended her.
In August 2013, when she was returning from school, Samrat approached her and informed her that he needed to talk to her.
He took her to his residence and after threatening to kill the girl, he raped her. He promised to marry the girl and since then has been allegedly raping her. The girl soon got pregnant and asked the youth to marry. After Samrat backed off on his promise and refused to to marry her, the girl lodged a complaint with Jaripatka police.
Cops have registered an offence under Sections 376 (1) and 506 of the IPC read with sub section 3 and 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and arrested Samrat.
