Teenage girl falls from rashly driven bike, dies in New Kamptee

Nagpur: Rash driving proved fatal for a pillion rider teenage girl who fell from a motorcycle and died on the spot. The mishap took place in New Kamptee police jurisdiction here on Wednesday night.

The accused Praful Chhatrapati Patil (26), resident of Mandvi, village Telgaon, Kalmeshwar, was riding a Bajaj Discover motorcycle (MH-40/W 5175). The deceased Pragati Laxman Komalwar (19), resident of Antuji Nagar, Bhandewadi, was riding pillion with Praful. The accused Praful was riding his bike recklessly. Both were going from Kamptee to Kalamna around 11 pm on Wednesday. Medway near Laxury Dhaba, probably at a speed-breaker, the bike jumped and as a result Pragati fell on the road with forceful impact. She received grievous injuries and died on the spot.

New Kamptee PSI Munde, based on a complaint lodged by Laxman Amrut Komalwar (60), father of the deceased, booked the accused Praful Patil under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Section 184 of Motor Vehicle Act. Further probe is underway.
