Nagpur: Thousands of ITI students under the leadership of Technical Apprentice Association will stage a ten-day dharna in front of the Vidhan Sabha during winter session from Dec12, as from many years their demands have remained unfulfilled.
A meeting of Technical apprentices Association, Too-led Technical Aeprentisa Association, Mahavitaran, Mahatransco, Mahanirmiti Company Trainees and contract workers was held in Trantrik Bhavan at Krida chowk recently, which was presided over by National President of Association Prabhakar Lahane. Vidarbha President Prashant Nanore, Nagpur District President Manish Dharam were present.
It may be mentioned that the Energy minister had called a meeting of Electricity Technical Workers Union R N 1029, on 10 January 2017 and informed that a decision would taken immediately on reservation to trainee candidates, increasing the stipend of trainees, Direct Service Recruitment, Age limit as per govt rule in Mahavitaran Company, ESBC selection and other problems. But no problem was solved but instead retrenchment policy was adopted and so the trainees and contract workers have decided to stage a dharna and hunger strike from Dec 12, informed Prabhakar Lahane.
Prominent among those present were Electricity Technical Workers Union’s National President J Deor , Vice-President Ravi Barai, B R Pawar, National General Secretary R T Deokant, National Deputy General Secretaries, Gajanan Supe, Dilip Korde, Pravin Patil, State Secretary Uday Mudare, Tresurer Santosh Ghadge, Tantrik Shakti Editor Anand Jagtap, Workers Welfare Trustees Ravi Vaidya, Shailesh Pendse and others will guided the dharna.
