Team of cops, drawn from two police stations, raids lottery den, nabs 4 youths playing Satta

RAIDNagpur: A team of policemen drawn from various police stations in Zone No. 2 on Wednesday raided a lottery den and arrested four persons who were found indulging in Satta (Betting) on Wednesday. Cops have seized gambling material, cash and two motorcycles collectively worth Rs 68,620 from the possession of the arrested accused.

According to details, the DCP Sanjay Latkar of Zone-2 received a tip-off that Satta (betting) was being played at a lottery den in a big way. Acting on the tip-off, the DCP Latkar formed a team of policemen drawn from Gittikhadan and Jaripatka Police Stations. The team, led by API Prakash Jumde, raided the Mumbai Warli Matka den running the lottery business in the name of Rajdhani, Kalyan and Prabhat lotteries situated on Kamptee Road, in front of Sarada Company, around 6.30 pm on Wednesday. The raiding cops found the four accused Bilal Ansari Kasim Ansari (28) of Kamgar Nagar, Bunty alias Suresh Dilip Rangari (22) of Nari Slums, Sheikh Vakil Sheikh Kadir (23) of Kamgar Nagar and Pappu alias Iftekhar Hasan Farookh (27) of Raza Town, Jaripatka indulging in Satta (betting). All the four accused were rounded up and Satta material, cash of Rs 3810 and two motorcycles collectively worth Rs 68,620 were seized from their possession.

An offence under Sections of Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act was registered and the four accused were placed under arrest.

Other members of the police team who participated in the raid include constables Raghunath Dhurve, Prabhakar Nande, Mahadeo Wankhede, Sunil Yadav, Rajesh Lohi, Ankush, Munindra and others.
