
Nagpur: A minor dispute over a ₹10 cup of tea turned fatal in Nagpur after a tea vendor allegedly stabbed a customer to death in the Kapil Nagar Police Station area on Sunday. Police have arrested the accused and registered a murder case.
According to police, the incident occurred near Sahare Petrol Pump, where an argument broke out between tea vendor Kailash Ganvir and customer Manoj Vishwanath Yadav over the payment of ₹10 for tea. The verbal altercation soon escalated into violence.
Police said the accused allegedly attacked Manoj Yadav with a knife, inflicting a grievous injury to his neck. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene before medical assistance could save him.
On receiving information, Kapil Nagar Police reached the spot, took custody of the body and began an investigation. The accused, Kailash Ganvir, was arrested shortly after the incident. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain all the circumstances surrounding the crime.
The incident drew additional attention as it occurred near the venue where Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had attended an official government programme earlier the same day.
