Tata Ace driver sandwiched between two trucks, dies in Kalamna

Nagpur: A Tata Ace driver was killed on the spot when his vehicle got sandwiched between two trucks on Bhandara Road here on Sunday afternoon in Kalamna area. One of the truck drivers was arrested while the other one managed to flee the spot.

According to police sources, the deceased Tata Ace (MH-40/N 3290) driver Dhanraj Manik Meshram (40) was coming to Nagpur from Bhandara around 2 pm on Sunday. When Dhanraj reached near Pal Petrol Pump, a speeding truck (MH-40/Y 4468) hit his Tata Ace vehicle from behind with forceful impact. The dash resulted in Tata Ace crashing on a truck that was taking turn. The collisions sandwiched the Tata Ace and Dhanraj between the two trucks killing him on the spot. Kalamna PSI Ulhas Rathod and his team reached the spot and sent Dhanraj’s body to Government hospital for post-mortem. Cops arrested one of the truck drivers Raghunathsingh Mangalsingh Baghel (47) of Kalamna and searching for the other.

The arrested truck driver has been booked under Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC read with Sub-Sections 184, 185 of Motor Vehicles Act.
