With winter having finally arrived in Nagpur and a cold breeze blowing at night, what better way to spend the evening than at a food festival in the beautiful and lavish Tirpude college premises of Nagpur?
This is the 25th year of this annual event – which has seen the festival being held in different forms, i
nformed the Principal of the Tirpude College of Hotel Management Mr. Naidu. It was begun as a ‘sizzler feast’ which did not take off as expected and then they decided to hold it as a festival of different kinds of cuisine popular in Nagpur.
So now the students prepare different Tandoori items ( hence the name), fried fish, some curries, momos, and lots of cakes – to name some of the items on offer.
So popular has the festival become that it is now being sponsored by a number of establishments like 5 star hotels of Nagpur, Haldirams, Dinshaws, Tulsi Rice bran oil, many catering firms etc.
But the point to note is that food served here is cooked only by the students of the college and not any of these famous hospitality people.
The price of all dishes is reasonable. Material used is of the highest quality and cooked and served with a lot of effort.
The result is there to see in all the happy faces milling around and the happy atmosphere that prevails.
