Swamy may be dropped from BJP’s national executive

BJP president Amit Shah is upset with his party’s Rajya Sabha member, Dr Subramanian Swamy, for his tweets against the Union government. Sources said Shah was waiting for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return from Japan, before taking the decision to drop Dr Swamy as a member of the BJP’s national executive.

Of late Dr Swamy’s acerbic seem to target even those in the ruling establishment. His latest target appears to be Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia, against who he has listed a slew of charges, and said that he was yet to get sanction from the finance minister to prosecute him.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley himself is another favourite target of Dr Swamy.

Incidentally, Dr Swamy has not been admitted to the BJP’s parliamentary party precisely for his refusal to accept Jaitley as his leader.

And to show him that dissent will not be tolerated anymore, Amit Shah has decided to drop the Harvard-educated Dr Swamy from the national executive, say sources.
