Suspended sanitation worker ransacks chamber of Principal Judge at Nyay Mandir

Nagpur: In an outrageous act, a suspended sanitation worker on Thursday stormed the chamber of Principal District and Sessions Judge at Nyay Mandir and ransacked property. The accused also abused and attacked the staff when they tried to resist him. Surprisingly, cops have booked him but not arrested as yet.

The accused has been identified as Hemant Ramrao Wahane (42), resident of Milind Nagar, near Mahatma Phule School, Pachpaoli. Hemant was working as sanitation worker at Nyay Mandir (District Court) and has been put under suspension since the past nine months. Around 2.30 pm on Thursday, the accused Hemant Wahane came to the private chamber of Principal District and Sessions Judge situated at 7th Floor of the building.

He sought permission to meet the judge. But as the permission was denied to him, the accused forcibly entered the chamber of the judge and smashed glass panes of windows and ransacked other property. The accused also abused and attacked staff as they resisted his entry into the judge’s chamber.

Sadar PSI Ghuge, based on a complaint lodged by one of the staffers Arvind Gulabrao Barbatkar (57), resident of Gadikhana, New Shukrawari, booked the accused Hemant Wahane under Sections 294, 352, 427, 511 of the IPC read with Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. Further probe is underway.
