Surveyor, Meena Ramteke, City Survey office 1, arrested in graft case

Nagpur News : The complainant, Gajanan Jagannath Lohe, 42, occupation-transporter, a resident of, Shriram Society, Chitrashala Mandir, Premnagar, wanted to get his ancestral property transferred in his family name. He had made application for this at City Survey office no. 1, Administrative Building, Civil Lines, Nagpur on April 29, 2014. The concerned officer, surveyor, Meena Ramteke, demanded a bribe of Rs 3,500 for effecting the transfer in the name of the complainant. It is obvious that the complainant was least interested in paying bribe for getting official work done. Thus, he made a complaint with Anti Corruption Bureau, Nagpur on 27th May 2014.

acptrapAfter receiving the complaint, Anti Corruption Bureau laid a trap at city survey office on May 28, 2014. The accused, Meena Fulchand Ramteke alias Meena Rajendra Gandhe demanded bribe of Rs 3,500/ and accepted it through her agent, Omprakash Punaji Balpande. Both of them have been arrested and offence under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at Sadar police station against them.

Anti Corruption Bureau is also conducting search operations at Meena Ramteke’s house at Arvi in Wardha district for seizure of assets disproportionate to her source of income.

The action was carried out under the guidance of Vasant Shirbhate, deputy commissioner of police/police superintendent and Sanjay Purandare, deputy superintendent of police by police inspector, Bharat Kshirsagar, police inspector, Raju Bahadure, police head constable Dilip Jadhav, Dharmendra Kale, police constable, Chandranag Taksande.
